2012 Spring Session

Overview:
Our PEAK PERFORMANCE Volleyball Training (PPVT) program is open to the public. This program is led by our Club Director, Jon Tom. The focus of our PPVT program is the development of the technical portion of the game of volleyball. Members of this program will receive detailed instructions on the techniques that are essential to the volleyball experience.  Each session will have a maximum of 20 participants. The sessions are limited so that the members will receive maximum repetitions.

Session Focus:
This training program will focus on footwork patterns, form, balance & agility. As each member develops their own skill sets the coaches will advance the training to incorporate transitional training, i.e., defense to offense, serve to defense, etc.

Age Group:
Session 1: Girls ages 11 to 14.
Session 2: Girls and Boys ages 10 and under.

Day, Dates, and Sites:
The program will run for six Sundays starting on April 29, 2012 at St. Andrew's Priory Gym.

Times:
Session 1: 1:00 PM - 2:30 PM.
Session 2: 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM.

 
Participants:
Maximum members: 20.

Costs:
Session 1: $90.00
Session 2: $60.00

Payment can be made at the first session.

Registration:

Registration will begin on Monday March 12, 2012.  Go to the REGISTRATION tab above to register your child.


2012 Hawaii Development Academy


Overview:
This program is designed to prepare girls for future participation with the USAV and is open to the public. This program is led by experience coaches of the Ho'okino Volleyball Club. The focus of the Academy is the development of the tactical portion of the game of volleyball. Students of this program will receive detailed technical instructions and the coaches will work with the girls on strategies and mental preparations that are essential to the volleyball experience.  This session will have a maximum of 15 students. The session is limited so that the students will receive maximum repetitions.

Age Group:

Girls 9 - 13 years of age.

Site:

St. Andrew's Priory Gym.

A message from our Club Director Jon Tom.....

Aloha kakou and welcome to the Ho'okino Volleyball Club from the beautiful island of Oahu, Hawaii.  We are a competitive girls volleyball program dedicated to developing junior athletes for competition in local and mainland tournaments.  Our Club's goals are to teach life skills through volleyball, to develop self-esteem, sportsmanship, competitiveness, and to create lasting friendships within our OHANA (family).  During this development we hope that everyone learns to appreciate this wonderful game.  Please browse through our website and if you have any questions please click on the EMAIL HVC tab on the top menu and send us an email.  A hui hou.

NEWS UPDATE (05/15/12): 16'S Pizza Hut Fundraiser

Help support our 16's Brandi's team as they prepare for the AAU Nationals.  Tonight they will be participating in a statewide Pizza Hut fundraiser during regular store hours.  See the following for the instructions.

NEWS UPDATE (04/28/12):  AAU Nationals Mandatory Conditioning Program

We will start our conditioning program for all AAU National teams on Tuesday, May 1, 2012.  We will be meeting at Ala Moana Beach Park, Diamond Head entrance first consession stand - beach side.  The sessions will be from 5:00 PM - 6:30 PM.  Please be aware that parking is limited so the eairler you are able to arrive at the park the better your chances of getting a parking stall near to our area.

Non-AAU travel team members are also welcome to attend.

Just a reminder that all Club practices are mandatory unless you are notified by your coaches. If you are unable to attend a practice please contact your coaches as soon as possible. Please be considerate to your teammates and your coaches.

NEWS UPDATE (11/22/11):  NCAA D1 Eligibility Standards

Anyone that is interested in being a student/athlete at the college/university level will need to take a look at the NCAA-Eligibilty Standards Quick Reference Sheet that has been included in the DOCUMENTS tab above.

Coach Brandi's 16's is participating in an All Day fundraiser with Pizza Hut Hawaii.  This fundraiser is an effort of raising funds for her team to go to the AAU Nationals in Florida!

This event will take place tonight, May 15, 2012.  See the attached link for the instructions.
